Mission in Kraslava
Part of LBC’s vision is to be engaged in the world, not only through theological education, but also through mission involvement. We understand that mission is in the heart of God and we want to be a part of Missio Dei.In 2016 we had an invitation from Vjacheslav and Irina Istratij to get involved in the missionary outreach in Kraslava. The city of Kraslava is located in the poorest region of Latvia, Latgale which is economically, geographically and spiritually poor.
We decided to respond to this invitation and to get involved in this mission. With the help of our partners from Norway we managed to buy a part of the building which is used for the newly growing community of believers Kraslava’s Bible Centre. It has a functioning Sunday school, humanitarian workshop and kitchen where some children from poor families are fed. Bible studies are conducted with men, single mothers and also with young people. It is a growing outreach and LBC is committed to make a difference in this region in partnership with a local Church.
